Have a Mice Day!!

This is the current freebie from playing along w/Faith entitled “Have a Mice Day”.  Isn’t he cute peeking thru the grass …lol!! With the image this week I printed it out on the bright pink cardstock, then light pink and then white.  I then cut out the petals on the pick ones and layered them on top of the white image.  You can’t see it very well, but I coated the light pick (middle layer) w/my CI Paints Fairy Dust to give it some shimmer.  I then printed it out on green cardstock as well and cut out the leaves and grass.  I put them on using my Xyron Create A Sticker to give the image some dimension with out having to pop up the entire image to do that.  I then coated it with the CI Paints Fairy Dust for more ‘wow’.  The challenge over at Double Delight this week was button, buttons, buttons!!  So added a few along the edge.

The picture below isn’t the best but you get the idea of how I ‘popped’ up the flower.

Then – you can see how I used the CI Paint for the great shimmering effect. OH, and I forgot about the Fuzzy Fun Flock for the pink on the ears!

Misc cards

Hi there!!

Just posting a few cards that I made recently. 

This one was for my parents anniversary.  I was going thru a bunch of different digi stamp sites and found this one on Bugaboo’s site.  I just thought it was the cutest thing – so I had to have it.  It sounds funny, but it kind of reminded me of my parents….quirky & fun!!

I used my Fuzzy Fun Flock for their ‘house slippers’…too cute!!  Then I added some Stickles to the dress and the heart, and went over her glasses w/my Clear Star Gelly Roll pen for some more ‘glitter"’.  I then got to use my new tool….my I-Rock, how fun was that!!  My girlfriend & I recently went to Archivers, seen it and just had to have it.  The gems or bling come with adhesive backs and all you do is heat up your I-Rock ‘gun’ and then press it on the gem and ta-da….BLING!!! Below is a close up of all the fun things I did.  Hope you can make them all out : )

 

 

This next card was for my girlfriends little guy who recently turned 2.  Love ya bunches Sawyer!!  Again, another cute digi stamp from Bugaboo!! Check them out @ http://www.bugaboostamps.com/home.html

Again,  I colored in the main image w/my Photoshop Elements program, then added some glitter to the red stripe on the surf board w/ PK Glitz “Stardust” embossing glitter translucent in burgundy.  And also – the Gelly Roll Clear Star pen on the glasses to give them that shimmer.

“What’s Cluck?”

I was so I sad that I missed the cut off for Faith’s last design @ Designed 2 Delight – I went out and got it from her digi stamp store http://designed2delight.blogspot.com/p/digistamps-shop.html.  If you haven’t been there yet…..check it out!!!  This weeks image is titled “Cluck”, this whimsical lil’ chicken.  I used the Photo Shop to color in his feathers and dots.  I then used the Copic Markers to color in his body.  I am still getting use to the Copic markers as I haven’t used them alot yet.  Then, I spritzed the top & bottom flowers w/Sheer Shimmer Spritz in Silver.

 

At the ‘sister’ blog – Double Delight - http://doubledelightchallenges.blogspot.com/ the weekly challenge is “Popcorn Chicken”.  You have to “pop” up your design somewhere.  I decided to do the head & feather, along with the picket fence and flowers.  I know…it’s probably ‘overkill’, but I thought it just worked out pretty well.  The picture below shows the different spots that I have ‘popped’ up on the card.

Ahhhh….VINO!!!

This weeks challenge from Faith was titled “Vino”.  My bad : (  ~  I did not make the post time for her weekly challenge  ~sniff sniff~.  I colored in the image using my PhotoShop Elements program and then cut it out and used dimensionals to pop it up on the card.  I also used my CI Paints Fairy Dust on the bottle to make it ‘appear’ as if the water in the bottle is shimmering.  This is only my 2nd time using the CI Pants and I am really liking them as well.  Thanks again Kendra for ‘turning’ me on to these – they are AWESOME!  I also used my Fuzzy Fun Flock again on my flower- the soft purple color is just wonderful on this image.  Not my best work – but I think it turned out pretty well.

If you have not done so – stop on over to Kathy & Kristine’s site.  They work along with Faith’s images and well ….it’s a Double Delight!!  Embossing was the challenge this time. I used the Cuttlebug D’vine Swirl on the white paper and scalloped the edges.  Then on the green strip,  I used my Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder.

I’m still not super happy with how my card turned out. Something is still ‘itching’ away at me that is not 110% happy with it.  But, I do have to say…..it is mucho better then where I was just a short time ago.  Again – comments are welcome – I enjoy hearing them and hope to see you back here real soon.

2009 Champs

 

This is a picture of the Christmas present I made for my in-laws last year.  My husband & son team drove the car to our 1st championship.  My husband had been racing this car since 2005 and that year took Rookie of the Year honors.  We no longer run this car as the track we ran at switched from a asphalt track to a dirt track, and no longer ‘carry’ this class.  So, I thought it was a nice way to remember of our last year driving the car.  The picture is not the best because of some of the glare but you get the idea. I used my Cricut to cut out the letters, and went to Hobby Lobby and had them specially cut the mat….and there you have it!!

BTW….my in-laws absolutely LOVED IT!!

A week of firsts.....

Hi everyone - hope you had a great 4th of July! This week from Faith we had to "hop" onto different blogs to get to the link with our free weekly image. It was fun to see what others are doing and share ideas. This week was alot of 'first' for me - a blog hop, a tent or tent topper card, using CI Paints and doing 2 challenges together...whew!! I knew I could do it : )


An AWESOME friend gave me some of her CI Paints to use - the Fairy Dust is what I used on the blue paper flower. I think it just makes the flower pop on the card. It was very fun to use and can't wait to do more with it. Thanks Kendra!

Design 2 Delight Free Image

This weeks challenge from Faith "Beary Big Gift" was this adorable lil bear!! I had alot of fun with him. I used my flocking for the first time to do the pink on his ears. Using the Fuzzy Fun Flock was ....well fun! Plus, I used my Sheer Shimmer Spritz (Silver) on the flowers for a little 'sparkle'. Kathy Winter and Kris Breach (sisters) have been playing along with Faith's FREE Stamp of the Month Challenge for quite some time now, and they have started a new challenge blog called Double Delight Challenges using the freebie Faith provides. They add a challenge to the image challenge, and that equals Double Delight. Isn't that fun!! Check it out at http://doubledelightchallenges.blogspot.com/. Hope you like my design and thanks again Faith for a wonderful image. And can't wait to play along on the DOUBLE Delight Challange as well.
