Mid-Week Inspiration @ FTHS

Hi everyone!!!

Welcome to the Mid-Week Inspiration post @ FTHS :)

Faith is recovering from her treatment so we are using another recycled older one this week and are revisiting Sketch No. # 2.  Since there was no tWiSt at the beginning, there is also no tWiSt this week.

So just the sketch – we hope you have fun with it anyway !

Here is my take on the sketch!

Image: Surprised Birdbrain
Paper: Heidi Swap Wanderlust
Coloring Medium: Copics
Other Supplies: My Favorite Things Stitched Scallop edge die
Sketch: Recycled Sketch 2

I went very CAS so that the image was the 'star'.  Hope you have time to join us this week. We would love to see your creations!

Don't forget -
Use any size or shape, feel free to
  • rotate it
  • flip it
  • and embellish as you like
but the sketch it should be recognizable!

As always, a From the Heart Stamps image is required.  Please check out the Challenge Rules under the tab “Challenges.”

Thanks for joining us today!!

Mid Week Inspiration @ FTHS

Hi everyone!!!

Welcome to the Mid-Week Inspiration post @ FTHS :)

Faith is our specialist in graphics and she brings the sketches into the form you see every week. Since she is still recovering from her treatment, there are currently no new sketches.
For this reason, we have recycle old ones and our dear Lyn had the great idea to start again at Sketch No. # 1. It was the first sketch from  2013 (!).  Since there was no tWiSt at the beginning, there is also no tWiSt this week. So just the sketch – we hope you have fun with it anyway !

Here's my take!!

Recycled Sketch #1

Image: Harriet PigWit Mud Bath
Paper: ki Metro Garden, Vellum
Coloring Medium: Copics
Other Supplies: Spellbinders Celebrations Pierced Circle dies, Memory Box Stitched Rectangle dies, Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze Icicle

  • rotate it
  • flip it
  • and embellish as you like
but the sketch it should be recognizable!
As always, a From the Heart Stamps image is required.  Please check out the Challenge Rules under the tab “Challenges.”

Hope you can join us!!

FTHS Mid-Week Inspiration

Welcome to my 2nd post of the day!

Are you ready for some inspiration?

I always find sympathy cards a difficult thing to do. Because they are for such a somber moment in time. And when I seen this weeks twist of "Easy does it" - I was trying to think of how to 'play on it'. For me personally, I think sympathy cards should be simply stated, not over the top with lots and lots of embellishments. And sometimes - sentiments can be just as powerful as an image.

With Faith's image Time to Bloom - it includes three images: main image of flowers and pocket watch, flower corner accent image, and butterfly, and six bonus sentiments. There are numerous ways this can be used. And to me - just the statement simply stated and a couple of butterflies I thought would be fitting for a sympathy card.

I hope you like it. As I cut the images of the butterflies out - I wanted to give them antennas. I thought the twine would make them look 'realistic'. And it's hard to see in the pic - but each of the butterflies has just a light coating of sheer sparkle over the top.

FTHS Mid-Week Inspiration

Hi there!!

Back for another Mid-Week Inspiration post at From The Heart Stamps:)

Here in the Midwest we are having some unusually warm weather for this time of the year. Highs in the upper 50's to 60's in some spots. When our average high is normally only about 29! In between all of our bathroom remodel, etc, - I did manage to get out an enjoy some of the great weather this past weekend w/my grandkids!!

Here is my inspiration for you this week! I have had the Nerd Girl for a little bit now, but have never used it. And when looking for some DP - I came across this one and thought it worked out perfectly w/the image! And as you can see as well, I did follow the current sketch challenge somewhat.
I hope you like it :)

This post today actually cover 2 things: SOTM and the current Sketch challenge #162.  This is the mid-month reminder for the SOTM which is absolutely perfect for Valentine's day. But, could be used for birthdays as well. This lil guy and his kisses are just too adorable!!

As you can see I followed the sketch, but not the twist.

I {heart} Sketches with a tWist #161

Hi everyone!!

We are all so thankful for Faith’s continued recovery and your continued thoughts and prayers for her!  We are also so excited to be back with you all and appreciate your sticking with us!

We are back with a new sketch challenge!

Before we get to the new sketch challenge, we want to highlight a few prize changes:
A random winner will receive 2 free images of their choice.

There will be no $5 voucher for the winner and there will not be a $1.00 credit for participating at this time.
This may change in the future.  We want to start out slow and not overwhelm Faith.

As you can see, our sketches look a little different!  Faith has hand drawn the sketches and added in an additional color option.  For the challenge, you may opt for the sketch, the tWist {in this case Birthday Cake}, the color palette or any combination of the three.  Use any size or shape, feel free to rotate it, flip it and embellish as you like, but if you use the sketch it should be recognizable! As always, a From the Heart Stamps image is required.  Please check out the Challenge Rules under the tab “Challenges”  (These new changes will be updated shortly.)

Image: Hamlet PigWit Pig Out
Paper: Teresa Collins Fabrications
Coloring Medium: Copics
Other Supplies: Glossy Accents, Smooch Glitz Frost, Sequins
Sketch: Sketch 161

As you can see I went with the sketch, and the twist kind of with the cupcakes. It's a little hard to see, but I put Glossy Accents on the cherries and sparkles on the frosting of the cupcakes.

It's been fun getting back into the swing of things and we hope you can join us for our challenge!!

Thanks for stopping by today!
I would love to hear from you :)

Mid-Week Inspiration Post @ FTHS

Happy Wednesday!!
2nd post for the day

It's time for a Mid-Week Inspiration @ FTHS.

For challenge #161, you get to choose your sketch from the four options below.  The tWists are also fair game — Sketch #47 was just a sketch.  There is no tWist for #47.

Reminder also:
We are still on a bi-weekly schedule.

I choose to use Sketch 096. I thought it went great the image I had colored. I went for a CAS card with simple lines and not a lot of 'frills'.

FTHS Mid Week Inspiration Post

Happy Wednesday crafty friends!!

Time for another Inspirational post @ FTHS.

I also want to let you know: the FTHS design team is heading into their well-deserved summer break {July 1-July 17}.  Sketch #158 will remain open from June 27 to July 17.  During the summer break, there will be no midweek inspiration posts.  In addition, there is no July blog hop.  Upon returning from break, our sketch challenges will run bi-weekly during the rest of summer.  Weekly sketches will resume in September.

On that note - here is my inspiration for the week. I have a girlfriend who's daughter LOVES flamingos. Well, she calls them "flingos"..lol! And when I seen this set I just had to have it :) I made this card thinking this would be a great paper piecing project. I found some nice bright and 'crazy' paper to piece the scarf with. The bright summery feel of this card is so fun!!!

Mid-Week Inspiration @ FTHS

Welcome to FTHS Mid-Week Inspirational post.

At first when I saw this sketch I was not quite sure how it would turn out for me. But once I colored this cute lil nerdy boy, and started going thru some of my paper - it just all came together!

I like the 'neutral' background as it makes the image 'pop' a little more. It may not be easy to see - but I did his glasses in Glossy Accents. And I added some sparkle to the balloon. I had also wanted to put a sentiment on the front, but didn't want it to 'distract' from the image. So I typed up the "You Are Wonderful" on my computer and ran it thru my printer on vellum.

If you missed the recent blog hop - you really missed out!! Faith has been SUPER busy creating some wonderful new images. You should really check out the store!

Here's my inspiration  :)

FTHS Mid-Week Inspiration

Here's another mid-week inspiration at From The Heart Stamps!!

Normally when I do a mid-week post I try to incorporate the current sketch challenge - but this is not one of those times. I had a special request from a friend to make a birthday card for her nephew who will be turning 6. She said he loves the Wisconsin Badgers - our home college team. She said if there was any way for me to incorporate that into the card that would be awesome.

Well ~ Faith's FTHS Birdbrain Football image is JUST that I image.
You can create your own team or incorporate one of your favorites into it like I did. The bird holding the sign also comes with a blank sign to add whatever personal touch you want to it.

So I added the Happy Birthday !!
She REALLY liked my finished card & I hope her nephew will too :)

Paper: Red Cardstock, I created my own DP (Wisconsin Badgers)
Color medium:  Copics
Other Supplies: the Paper Studio Spare Parts Knick Knacks Football, Target $1 bin Bakers twine, Lawn Fawn Puffy Clouds border die

I hope you have fun and can play around with this image like I did!!

You can still join this weeks sketch challenge if you would like to here.
 OR

Our Stamp of the Month challenge, but you only have until
Thursday the 31st!!

We can't wait for you to join us so we can see your amazing creations!!

Thanks for stopping by!!
