Happy Easter

I hope you all had a great Easter! I know we had a fun filled time w/our son, his fiancee and our granddaughters.  My parents were back 'home' in KY, so we decided to Skype. It was not the greatest connection, but we chatted for a bit. Then the girls just called and talked some more to great grandma and great papa. They were excited to share all the news as to what they got in there baskets.

I had wanted to post this before now, but just ran out of time. I am addicted to Pinterest lately and I have some awesome things I would like to try out.
Here is one of my latest crafts.

This is the picture from Pinterest that grabbed my attention

Here is my version

I went with a bigger wreath, and also added the eggs for Easter. Now that Easter is over, I will take the eggs out and place more flowers in for the spring.

Such a cute idea!!

Thanks for stopping :)

Bunny Hello!

It's almost Easter and I am in LOVE with this new image from Faith @ FTHS titled "Bunny Hello". How adorable right!

I really liked the colors of the DP, so I based the rest of my card from that. And it seems like I am always coloring the hair in my images blonde or brown. So, I stepped "out of the box" and colored her w/raven hair. And in my first image I colored I made the bunny gray, but just didn't like it as much as the white bunny.

So here is my final result :)

COLOR MEDIUM:  Gamsol & colored pencils
PAPER:  Recollections Cool Water Cardstock & Me & My Bid Ideas DP
MISC:  Recollections Floral Embellishments & Gems, Spellbinders Lacey Ovals & Large Ovals, American Crafts Premium ribbon, Versa Magic Aspen Mist & Distress Ink Tumbled Glass

I hope you like it and will stop on by FTHS and see what other wonderful images she has in the store. And don't forget to stop by Delightful Inspirations {from the Heart} blog for current challenges and sketches.  We hope to see you there soon!!

Bella turns 3

Our youngest granddaughter Isabella turned 3 recently, and we celebrated at Chuck E Cheese. After that, we stopped back at our house for some cake.

Now usually I always buy a cake at the local grocery store.  But this time I wanted to make a special cake. I had this 'vision' in my head of how I wanted it to turn out, but I didn't want to spend a lot of time and money on it either.  So basically I just 'winged it' and here is how it turned out.

I know my mother is not fond of chocolate cake, so I made Spice cupcakes as well. The ladybug was white on the bottom and chocolate on the top.  I used regular buttercream frosting for the body of the ladybug. The 'grass' was actually a little thicker frosting that I bought at the local cake decorating place.  It's more for like making roses and things that need to hold there shape a little better than what normal frosting would.  That is where I also got the lil ladybugs, eyes and flowers as well.

I won't be quitting my day job anytime soon...lol...but I really enjoyed making it for her. And her face when she seen it was priceless  :)

Thanks for stopping!!

Irish Blessings

Well....soon St Patty's day will be here, and people here in WI will be consuming the green beer!!
Not for me, but I do have a card to share with you today.

This digi is a new release this month from Faith @ From the Heart Stamps! It's called Spring Baskets and the set has THREE spring baskets! (3 individual digi stamps). A basket of shamrocks, Easter Eggs, and beautiful spring flowers. The set is perfect for all spring holidays--St. Patricks Day, Easter, Birthdays and other Spring Celebrations! She also offers a Elegant Easter Sentiments package that goes together with this set perfectly!

I had so much fun coloring this image. I just can't wait for spring to get here. Yesterday it rained most of the day and it was pretty miserable. It's still raining (sprinkling) and there is a chance of 2-4 inches of snow. Of course now that the rain has melted alot - we will get more!!

It may be a little hard to see, but I stamped the kraft cardstock w/two different colors of Memento ink. Bamboo Leaves and Pear Tart - just to give the background a little something, but not to take too much away from the image.

Well I must run for now. We are celebrating our youngest granddaughters birthday today w/ a trip to
Chuck E Cheese. She is 3 and I made a special caked for her and I will post pics later.
