FTHS Mid Week Inspiration Post

Happy Wednesday crafty friends!!

Time for another Inspirational post @ FTHS.

I also want to let you know: the FTHS design team is heading into their well-deserved summer break {July 1-July 17}.  Sketch #158 will remain open from June 27 to July 17.  During the summer break, there will be no midweek inspiration posts.  In addition, there is no July blog hop.  Upon returning from break, our sketch challenges will run bi-weekly during the rest of summer.  Weekly sketches will resume in September.

On that note - here is my inspiration for the week. I have a girlfriend who's daughter LOVES flamingos. Well, she calls them "flingos"..lol! And when I seen this set I just had to have it :) I made this card thinking this would be a great paper piecing project. I found some nice bright and 'crazy' paper to piece the scarf with. The bright summery feel of this card is so fun!!!

Welcome back for another Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge!!

This weeks challenge is:

Challenge # 283
Anything Goes

Over at Imagine That...digis by Kris she has this adorable set. It's perfect for summer, Father's day, masculine birthdays or whenever! This set has SO MANY ways to use it. I decided not to use the adorable lil guy grilling - instead going for the hamburger & soda. It may be a little hard to see, but I used Glossy Accents on the cheese to make it look like it is melted.

Mid-Week Inspiration @ FTHS

Welcome to FTHS Mid-Week Inspirational post.

At first when I saw this sketch I was not quite sure how it would turn out for me. But once I colored this cute lil nerdy boy, and started going thru some of my paper - it just all came together!

I like the 'neutral' background as it makes the image 'pop' a little more. It may not be easy to see - but I did his glasses in Glossy Accents. And I added some sparkle to the balloon. I had also wanted to put a sentiment on the front, but didn't want it to 'distract' from the image. So I typed up the "You Are Wonderful" on my computer and ran it thru my printer on vellum.

If you missed the recent blog hop - you really missed out!! Faith has been SUPER busy creating some wonderful new images. You should really check out the store!

Here's my inspiration  :)

Challenge #281

Happy Wednesday!
Time for Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge.

This week is:

Challenge #281
Use Your Favorite Embellishment

Summer time - a time to have lots of great fun. That's why I choose this cute image from Sparkle &Sprinkle. I have so many fav embellishments, it was hard to choose just 1. It's hard to see, but the orange flowers on the inner tube have Smooch Glitz Frost on them. It's just gives it a nice little shimmer. I like shimmer and sparkle I guess :)

I knew I wanted to create a beach scene when I got this image. I suppose I could have cut the image out more, to make it look like she was "on the beach". But I think it turned out nice this way too!

June Blog Hop @ FTHS

Welcome to our From the Heart Stamps blog hop.

We have a fun and unique hop for you this month.

Every image is new and each designer got to chose what they would like for a special image and Faith designed them. How fun is that??!!!

As you hop along, please leave a comment on each blog. One random commenter will be selected on each blog to win the featured image on that blog.
In addition to the images offered on each blog, one very lucky hopper will be able to work with Faith to create an idea for a specially made image. When you comment on the FTHS Blog, please say what kind of image you would like if you win the chance.

If you have arrived from Lyn, you are in the right place, if not why don’t you start on the From the Heart Stamps blog, so you don’t miss anything.

Here is my project !

I was SO EXCITED when Faith approached us with this idea! Our family has been big into racing since about 1998. And we as a family (husband, son & I) got into local asphalt racing in 2003. My husband started racing first. Then in 2004 they both got into racing.  And in 2005, my husband moved up a class and won Rookie of the Year honors. He finished 7th in points that year. In 2006 he would again finish 7th in points, in 2007 2nd and again in 2008 2nd in points. Then - with my husband and son team driving - they won the Mini Stock Championship in 2009!! And my husband also raced another class called Enduros and won that Championship in 2009 as well :) Our local asphalt track was turned into a clay (dirt) track in 2010. My guys took about a year and half off not sure if they wanted to race on the dirt. Then the "racing bug" hit again in 2012 and they decided to give it a try. They have been dabbling in different classes and trying things since then. Nothing as serious as before, but they still are having fun :)

Enough about me (us).....now head over to Ruth and see what she has created.

Thanks for hopping with us today. The hop will end on Sunday June 12th at 6 am EST. Winners will be posted on the From the Heart Stamps Blog on Wednesday June 15th.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Mid Week Inspiration Post @ FTHS

Welcome to the 2nd post of the day!

I am starting to feel normal again after being sick for about 2 weeks w/bronchitis. I hope I don't feel like that again ever!! It 'zapped' everything right out of me.

Anyway...I'm glad you stopped by! I normally showcase the sketch of the week, but I'm not this week. Back in April on our girls scrapbooking retreat I made this card. My dear friend is on quite a few design teams & I love seeing the products she has. I had this Birdbrain along and colored up when I happened across the PERFECT stamp set to use with it. So I grabbed my paper that looks like an old tablet paper, and started stamping away!! I think it turned out pretty darn cute :)

Paper: My Art C
Coloring Medium: Copics
Other Supplies: Your Next Stamp - Coffee Rings CYNS5285, Memento Rich Cocoa, Craftin' Desert Divas - Fancy Frames, Memory Box Stitched Rectangle Layers die, Recollections Pearls

Don't forget to join us for the current i {heart} sketch Challenge!

And....we have something really FUN & EXCITING coming up for our June hop. So make sure you keep and eye out on Monday June 6th for that. You DON'T want to miss it :)

Thanks for stopping by today!

Challenge #280
Anything Goes

Sorry, I had some issues with my computer besides being sick last week. So my post from last week didn't get up on my blog. Any how - I am starting to feel more like a normal person again and I am ready for this weeks challenge!!

This week I got to use a Bugaboo image - YAY!! I absolutely love these images. They are just so fun to work with. And with the weather finally starting to warm up I thought a fun summer image would be great! Isn't she just the cutest!!  I maybe a little hard to tell - but I have lil squiggles coming off the "sun" to make it look like rays. And I still working on mastering making those cloud backgrounds LOL :)
