FTHS Mid-Week Inspiration

Here's another mid-week inspiration at From The Heart Stamps!!

Normally when I do a mid-week post I try to incorporate the current sketch challenge - but this is not one of those times. I had a special request from a friend to make a birthday card for her nephew who will be turning 6. She said he loves the Wisconsin Badgers - our home college team. She said if there was any way for me to incorporate that into the card that would be awesome.

Well ~ Faith's FTHS Birdbrain Football image is JUST that I image.
You can create your own team or incorporate one of your favorites into it like I did. The bird holding the sign also comes with a blank sign to add whatever personal touch you want to it.

So I added the Happy Birthday !!
She REALLY liked my finished card & I hope her nephew will too :)

Paper: Red Cardstock, I created my own DP (Wisconsin Badgers)
Color medium:  Copics
Other Supplies: the Paper Studio Spare Parts Knick Knacks Football, Target $1 bin Bakers twine, Lawn Fawn Puffy Clouds border die

I hope you have fun and can play around with this image like I did!!

You can still join this weeks sketch challenge if you would like to here.

This week the whole team was to use an image from Pink Gem Designs.

Not sure about you - but I am so ready for spring. All of our snow was melted and everything was starting to green up, then BAM!!!
We got almost a foot of snow ;(
Good thing is that now we had a couple of nice days and it is melting quite fast, so spring should be here soon!

The fun thing about Pink Gem Designs is that you a get high resolution 300 dpi PNG file (black outline), a 300 dpi JPEG file (black outline), 300 dpi JPEG file (coloured) and a 300 dpi PNG file (coloured) without copyright information. You will recieve 4 files in total!!

This week I used the current sketch challenge as well as the twist.
I am not sure I totally love my cloud background. I am still working on perfecting how to do that and which method works best. As well as my grass. So many of my other crafty friends and fellow DT members make it looks so cool. Like they say "Practice makes perfect!"

Challenge #270

Welcome back for another challenge @ Penny's!!!

This week is:
Challenge #270
Anything Goes

I got to use another wonderful image from Lacy Sunshine. I really like bringing these image to "life". At first I was a little intimidated by the images as some are so detailed and I am still honing my Copic coloring skills..lol. But when I seen this cutie - I knew exactly how I wanted to color her. This was my 3rd try - as I just wasn't satisfied with the first 2. My first one I didn't like the way I colored the shirt. The 2nd one was an issue with the hair. I hope you like how this one turned out :)

Paper: My Mind's Eye - Miss Caroline - Fiddlesticks, Gray cardstock
Color Medium: Copics
Other Supplies: Darice bakers twine, Eyelet Outlet & Brads Silver Enamel Dots, Smooch Glitz Frost, atyou Spica pen 18 Baby Blue, Quickutz Circle die, Spellbinders Lacey Circles die, Button

It's hard to see - but I have the Smooch Glitz on the tassles of her hat. As well as the horn. I love the way it shimmers with the undertones of the purple & blue colors.

Well - thanks for stopping by and make sure you visit the rest of the DT and our sponsors as well!!

Challenge #268

IT'S TIME!!!
Yes, it's Wednesday and time for another Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge.

This weeks challenge is:
Challenge #268
Anything Goes

This week I got to use an image from Melonheadz.  This is not the DP I had in mind when I first set out to make this card. I have a stack called "All About Boys" (don't remember by which company) that had like cowboys, superheros, robots and some awesome outer space/UFO paper. With rocket ships, stars, etc. Needless to say my craft room is in total disarray and I can not find that stack ANYWHERE!! And so I found another DP which had some stars and looked kind of 'funky' to go with my lil monsters :)

Here is my card

Image: Melonheadz Monsters
Paper: My Mind's Eye ~ Party Time by Christy Lyle, Gray  Orange textured cardstock
Color Medium: Copics
Other Supplies: Queen & Co Pearls ~ Shamrock Green, We R Memory Keepers twine, Mama Elephant Tags A Lot die, The Stamps of Life Bandage die, Smooch Glitz ~ Frost

I computer generated the saying using the Comica BD font. I thought it turned our pretty well. I had fun coloring these lil guys and can't wait to make some more cards with them ;)

March Blog Hop @ FTHS

TGIF crafty friends!
Welcome to our March From the Heart Stamps blog hop!!

We have a “CASE it” theme this month.
Each team member will be showcasing a card CASE-D
(copy and share everything) from another teammate.

As you hop along, please leave a comment on each blog. One random commenter will be selected on each blog to win an image of choice from the FTHS store. Additionally one lucky random winner from the comments on the FTHS blog will win a $15 voucher to the FTHS store!

If you have arrived from Lyn, you are in the right place.  If not, why don’t you start on the From the Heart Stamps blog, so you don’t miss anything.

Here is my project:
I got to CASE Imke :)

And here is Imke's card

Image: Birthday Burger Birdbrain
Paper: Kraft cardstock, Hampton Arts ki Autumn Flowers
Color Medium: Copics
Other Supplies: Spellbinders Celebrations Pierced Circle Dies, Hero Arts CL611 Birthday Sentiment, QuicKutz Circle die, Distress Ink Old Paper, Memento Ink Black

I have had this image for awhile now. And when I seen Imke's wonderful card - I thought  "That's the one I want to use"! I also pretty much copied everything she did because it's such a fun card!!

I had a lot of fun coloring this image. I thought for sure that I would get super frustrated and have to color about 2 or 3 images to get "the look" I wanted. But this was first image and I kinda like it :)

Now head over to Ruth and see what she has created.

Thanks for hopping with us today.
The hop will end on Monday March 7th at 6 am EST. Winners will be posted on the From the Heart Stamps Blog on Wednesday March 9th.

Glad you stopped by!!
