Showers.....and not the weather kind

Hi everyone -

Well, it's getting to be that time of year again!! Wedding showers are in 'full swing' now that the spring and summer are getting closer.  I just happen to have 2 in the same weekend.  My best friends daughter is getting married and the girl I made the invites and decorations for in a previous post as well.

I saw this image in my head of how I wanted to create the card.  I wanted it to be a silhouette of the wedding gown, on a colored background.  I tried to get as close to each of the girls wedding colors as I could.  I wanted it to be simple, but yet fun card.

Jenny - the girl I work with is getting married in Florida and basically has a beach theme. A light blue, sand and white color scheme.  I made her card a 5 x 7 as there going to be quite a few of us at work to sign it.

Liz - her colors are lime green, black and white.  Well, when I tried it w/a lime green I really didn't like the look.  So I went with a 'softer' green, with the lime green behind that.

I didn't use any templates or anything.  I ran a white piece of cardstock thru the Cuttlebug, using the Divine Swirls folder, then cut 2 triangles the same size.  Then punched the 'bigger' end with a scalloped border punch. I cut a smaller triangle for the top of the dress.  I spritzed it all w/Maya Mist Iridescent Pearl.  I just LOVE that stuff!!  I used the Polka Dots folder for the background.  Once dry, I layered the 2 triangles on top of each other and used pop dots to raised the one layer.  Put the smaller triangle on top and added a bow to the back of the dress.

The girls at Liz's party just loved it, and I can't wait to see what Jenny says tomorrow about hers!

Well, gotta run for now.  Take care
Michelle
